Icelanders are vigorously trying to reverse this unfortunate
chain of events. The most important remedial action in this
struggle is to plant trees. In this way we can check erosion
and gradually restore the ecology of the island.
It is our goal to restore the forests
of Iceland, back to its' original growth, which is close
to 20% of the country's landmass.
To our knowledge, this is the most ambitiuos
Ecological “Repair” initiative ever undertaken
by any country in the world.
Our 5 main objectives for afforestation:- Land reclamation
- Recreation
- Shelterbelts
- Urban forestry
- CO2 sequestration •
The removal of harmful greenhouse gasses by the planting
of new trees which take up the CO2 gasses and trap them,
while at the same time producing clean oxygen which we all
need to breathe!
Help us turn back the clock of destruction in Iceland
and help us prove that it can be done, because if we can
do it in Iceland, we can do it anywhere!
